More About Me:

It was my personal challenges with autoimmune disease that led me to acupuncture. Going to my first acu appointment changed my ideas about what healthcare could be: gentle yet effective, and capable of connecting the dots of my range of symptoms. I knew I wanted to learn and share the natural strength of this medicine. 

Along the way, I've come to understand that mental health, trauma, and socioeconomic factors play a huge role in healthcare outcomes. This led me to complete additional training in trauma informed care, acupuncture for trauma recovery, acupuncture as an alternative to opioids, and in gender-affirming practices in healthcare settings.

 

I also began to learn about the privilege I have as a white acupuncturist practising and profiting from a medicine and cultural tradition that is not my own, and the ways that racism contributes to the erasure of the people and communities who brought Chinese medicine to the West. I am committed to continuing to learn about racism in the Chinese medicine field, as well as accessibility, inclusivity, and community care.

I studied at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and the University of Calgary,
