NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
Hi, I'm Alex (she/her), a Registered Doctor of Acupuncture and Functional Nutritional Therapist.
I offer a compassionate, holistic, one-on-one treatment process designed around your individual health journey and goals.
My approach incorporates Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modalities (cupping, herbal formula, guasha), and Nutritional Therapy.
I follow a consent-led, trauma-informed care model. As a member of Skipping Stone's Trans-Affirming Network, I have undertaken training and an ongoing commitment to trans and gender diverse inclusivity in my practice.
I also offer Community Acupuncture as a lower-cost alternative to private treatment. These group sessions are designed to reduce stress and promote overall health and balance.

I specialize in...
CHRONIC PAIN & MIGRAINES
Suffering from ongoing back pain, sciatica, or TMJ disorder? Anticipating the next Chinook with dread?
Acupuncture stimulates pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory compounds, relaxes smooth muscles, and improves circulation. Along with TCM, it can also address underlying imbalances leading to conditions such as migraines and menstrual pain - for both short-term relief and long-term prevention.
DIGESTION, ALLERGIES & SKIN ISSUES
Bloating, gas, or sleepiness after meals, allergies, skin conditions (i.e. acne, eczema), chronic fatigue and even autoimmune diseases have common roots in digestive function.
Acupuncture can improve digestion function, as well as lower systemic inflammation - for better energy, comfort and quality of life.
TRAUMA, ANXIETY & INSOMNIA
FERTILITY & HORMONAL BALANCE
Acupuncture helps regulate the nervous system, the vagus nerve, and cortisol (the stress hormone). This regulation helps address the traumatic stress response, creating a sense of embodied safety. It is also helpful for anxiety, depression and insomnia.
I use consent-led, trauma-informed practices to assist with providing a sense of safety. I also offer alternatives to acupuncture (for example, stick-on ear seeds) if you are needle-hesitant.
Gynecology is an important branch of TCM, and acupuncture's ability to bring balance and ease to the hormonal and reproductive systems is the key to its increasing popularity as a natural fertility aid.
Acupuncture's effect on hormonal side effects and pain relief can be used to assist in pregnancy support, labour prep and induction, and post-partum recovery. It can also provide support for individuals undergoing gender-affirming hormone therapy or surgery.
